UNDERWATER WORLD FOR KIDS
Prominent Australian producers, Pandora's Box and Sunrise have teamed up to produce and distribute a new concept in television - a diving series for kids!
The producer, Wayne Malcolm Gibbs, is one of Australia's most highly
qualified scuba divers and has filmed in exotic dive destinations all
over the world, amassing some 2000 hours of highly sought after
underwater footage. In his travels Wayne has always been fascinated by
the unbridled curiosity that children have for our "creatures of the
deep" and he has determined that a series made specifically for kids is
in order!
Each episode of UNDERWATER WORLD FOR KIDS contains 4 x 6 minute segments produced from Wayne's extraordinary archive. Two of these are called Creature Features
– covering the smallest and oddest creatures an underwater
adventurer might find to some of the largest oceanic denizens.
The other two segments cover a variety of feature stories and involve
many subjects that kids will find interesting about oceanic life -
from Tales of The Deep – personal experiences like the remarkable story of Igo Oak who made friends with a wild Dolphin to Industry and the Environment
– profiles of people and organisations who make their living from
the sea such as the abalone industry, marine biologists, professional
divers and deep sea adventurers.
UNDERWATER WORLD FOR KIDS is
intended to educate and inspire our young to explore
the waters in the future and respect this highly fragile
eco-system in a fun and exciting manner!
